What cat strains could be tortoiseshell? For some, tortoiseshell can signify the most beautiful of colors and the most beautiful of personalities. For others, it's the world's lightest colour and frequently means you're looking at a strain with one hell of a unique background and a long record of being misunderstood and misrepresented. Tortoiseshell can consult with a cat's eyes or it may reference its coat colour.

There are mini cats breeds to characterize tortoiseshell. Tortoiseshell is described as a reddish-brown colour, which is nearly always located in rather young cats or kittens. The kitty is the deepest red in its underbelly and contains its own eyes a gentle pink or white colour. With careful work, the color of the jacket will lighten to a more pleasing, golden-red coloration. The tortoiseshell pattern also grows into the coat that adds a gorgeous, natural look and leaves the kitty stand out even more.

Some examples of what cat breeds may be tortoiseshell comprise the Mexican strain or Maine Coon, amongst others. This trait is only seen in a really small percentage of cats. It's not as readily recognized as having Siamese or Himalayan cats for instance, which were bred to possess the same genetic factor as tortoiseshell. A cat with this trait is really different from those cats who have tortoiseshell because of patterned coat.
