In October, Minecraft developer Mojang announced that part two of their gigantic Caves and Cliffs update would be available in "a month or two". It looks like it's almost time, as Mikael "slicedlime" Hedberg, the technical lead for Minecraft Java Edition, just tweeted something obscure:

This might not seem like much to go on, but Mojang employees are famous for using Twitter to tease upcoming features - or accidentally doing it, at the very minimum and the tone of the tweet specifically "pre-paring" it suggests a pre-release for Caves and Cliffs part 2.

Pre-releases typically come only a few weeks or days prior to the official launch of the update and function as a step between "snapshots" which are the testing of new features that players can select as well as the full update, which is hopefully as close to being completed as is. 1.17's last update was released on May 27th. The full update was released on June 8th.

What does this mean? It means that we don't have long to wait for the 1.18 update, which will bring an incredible new world generation to Minecraft worlds. It might even be available before the end of November!

Mojang also revealed in this year's Minecraft Live presentation, that the Deep Dark biome with its new mob The Warden would be moved back to The Wild update in 2022. Minecraft servers
