Anyone can download Minecraft: Education Edition absolutely no cost! There are two ways to test Minecraft: Education Edition for free, through the free trial or through the demo lesson. The trial is free but you need to sign up for an account, either an Office 365 Education account or an Microsoft 365 account. It is not necessary to have an account or log-in to take advantage of the demo lesson. This article will explain how to use the demo lesson and the free trial.



Technical requirements



Minecraft: Education Edition can be played on Chromebook, iPad, Mac and PC. To ensure that Minecraft: Education Edition is compatible with your device, please review the System Requirements article.



About the trial free



The trial version for free is fully functional and comes with all the features available in the paid version. The trial is compatible with Code Connection and Classroom Mode. These features are explained in the Get Started with Code Connection and Get Startted with Classroom Mode articles.



The trial is limited to 25 logins per teachers who have an Office 365 Education Account and 10 for all users. After that the trial ends, a paid subscription is required to continue playing. Trial logins cannot be renewed. Contact our support team immediately if you have any questions. Minecraft: Education Edition can be purchased after your trial logins have been used.

If you have an Office 365 Education account or a Microsoft 365 account, follow these steps to begin the trial trial for free.



Select the Minecraft: Education Edition version you want to download from the Get Minecraft download page. Install the version of Minecraft: Education Edition that you downloaded. Demo lessons allow you to try Minecraft Education Edition for free and without having to sign up. Demo lessons are not fully functional. Worlds and progress cannot be saved and it's impossible to host or join an online game. Demo lessons give you the opportunity to experience a real lesson in Minecraft: Education Edition. Start a demo lesson



Follow these steps to try an interactive lesson



Select the Minecraft: Education Edition version you want to download from the Get Minecraft download page. Install the version of Minecraft: Education Edition that you downloaded. Launch Minecraft: Education Edition and, on the Welcome to Minecraft: Education Edition screen, select If you don't have an account, then try an interactive lesson. To read the license agreement, click View Terms. Select Accept Terms and then Play when you are ready to play. Select Start Lesson. You can access lessons using the lock overlay after signing into the game using an authorized account, or one that is qualified to try the game for a trial.
