QuoteThey will be available in two different editions You can also have both.

My concern is that they plan to end Java edition, and then say "well, most Java players are running Windows so they can just use Bedrock!" Minecraft java

Java supports Windows 7 and higher, while Bedrock supports Windows 10 or later. I am afraid that Microsoft will decide there is no reason for two separate codebases when Windows 7 and 8 are removed.

It is important to note that this isn't because of Microsoft's conflict of interest in (not) supporting Linux. None of the major game studios, including Paradox or Valve, will bring full-sized games onto Linux unless they have access to the majority of the software that runs on Windows. Every proprietary game that runs on Linux would lose support when the developer no more wanted to support the Windows version.

Quoting: mr-victoryQuoteNot that is especially relevant to Linux players It does matter for me. I was using the bedrock edition only because java was way more expensive but now I can play minecraft on linux. The last time I checked, purchasing BE on one platform didn't offer it on other platforms. Is that the case now? Does purchasing Minecraft on the desktop now get you Bedrock on Android, or vice reverse?
