What private server would you recommend to somebody who never played wow before?
I am a casual gamer for most games. I have literally 0 exp in WoW. I want to eventually access the newest content/lore. I am located in Europe.

I would recommend you to get a fresh server. It is the best way of enjoying the whole experience, with people leveling with and alongside you. Precision (19 dec) and Whitemane (january 2021) are the next releases, both with very positive reviews.

Play on a WOTLK server (lordaeron on Warmane or another big WOTLK server right now) OR play on Tauri's MOP server - which is a newer version of the game. But I think WOTLK is better to start with. Crystalsong, a WOTLK server that Tauri has created, allows you to level up a lot quicker.
If you have limited time, you can play on a 1x server.
Thank you. While I wait for Precision to arrive, I think I will give Tauri a try. These 2 seem to be the most common answers. To confirm, wotlk refers to the wrath or the lich-king.
Finally, I'm sorry to bother you so much. Does it matter which expansion I start it in? (Is it possible for me to lose content/progress in expansion A when I start in expansion C) Are all servers able to progress through expansions such as Precision plans?

The vanilla and the tbc stages with wotlk talents are confusing

While I do recommend that you wait for later expansions, it is not a recommendation that anyone makes. I really dont suggest starting with older expacs check my post history and scroll down a sec to see a comment I made a couple days ago why newer expacs are simply better for new players.

Lordaeron is a good choice. It's one among the best scripted servers, with one of the most populous populations. The 1x rate allows for a true wow experience, with no pay to win.
Try warmane wotlk, then apollo cataclysm and then tauri mop.
Recommending a server other than vanilla to a new player in WoW is blatantly stupid. Using a server with cash shops and pay2win should be punished.
Wait for a new server to arrive (Precision, Whitemane), or try Dalaran wow. Dalaran wotlk servers have an eternal progression system that allows you to experience all raids in the expansion. This is in contrast to fully progressed servers, which can only give you the last raid tier.

Maybe for a start try and search this whole subreddit? Every day, we get the exact same question asked... it's becoming annoying.

For a novice player, I would recommend choosing a server you enjoy and sticking with it. Wow isn't a complex game by any means and you'll pick it up quick.
If you are looking for a relaxing adventure with questing, where you will read the quest and get the lore. I would choose Mist of Panderia TauriWoW.
This server is the most advanced expansion server with polish. Over server like wow freaks there will be lots of bugs, unfinishable quests, and a lot more.
If you want a community (don’t listen too much to people about toxicity, the ignore buttons works for a reason, don’t feel scared to use them), I would recommend Ascension Wow. I do believe it's the most active server at the moment. You'll still find a community on most servers.
